The Classical Model of Learning

Classical education follows the natural stages of a child’s development through what is known as the Trivium.

Grammar Stage (Early Years, Kindergarten – 6th Grade)

Young students are naturally eager to absorb information. In these foundational years, we focus on building strong academic habits and core knowledge.

Students learn through:

• Phonics and reading mastery
• Math facts and foundational skills
• Scripture memory and recitation
• History, science, and vocabulary building

This stage lays the groundwork for lifelong learning.

Logic Stage (Middle Grades – 7th and 8th Grade)

As students mature, they begin to ask “why” and “how.” We guide them to think more deeply and make meaningful connections across subjects.

Students learn to:

• Think critically and reason well
• Identify relationships between ideas
• Develop structured writing skills
• Study formal logic and argumentation
• Evaluate truth through a biblical worldview

Rhetoric Stage (Upper Grades – High School)

In the final stage, students learn to communicate truth with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

Students are trained in:

• Persuasive writing and speaking

Our goal is to develop students who can clearly express what they believe—and why.

We currently do not offer this stage of the trivium.
